Officials at odds over districts: ; Some say new system will boost accountability in the state Legislature

When more complete census data becomes available later this year,legislators will begin the process of reorganizing the state's 58House of Delegates districts.

But instead of just realigning them, some lawmakers want to seethe current system shelved entirely.

West Virginia is one of a handful of states in the country thatuses a combination of multi- and single-member districts torepresent different parts of the state.
