SALT LAKE CITY, July 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Onyx Graphics today announced it has released version 6.5 of its Color Production workflow software packages including Onyx ProductionHouse(TM), Onyx PosterShop(R) and Onyx RIPCenter(TM) software. Version 6.5 includes performance improvements of up to 30 percent over version 6.0 and an Ink Usage Tracking feature that helps print providers estimate ink usage before a job is run. All version 6.5 software packages are available for order now.
Key Features
Onyx Graphics workflow software version 6.5 has been optimized to run on Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 and greater platforms. Users will see performance improvements of 20 to 30 percent over version 6.0 when using version 6.5 and the recommended platform. Version 6.5 is fully compatible with color output, printer drivers and media profiles developed in version 6.0.
A new Ink Usage Tracking feature is included that can estimate the amount of ink that will be used before the print is run. This feature gives print providers valuable cost-tracking tools that can help them understand the true costs of a specific print job in order to maximize profitability. Tracking is available for all dot patterns and resolutions. The information is retained in a job log for easy access and customization, which enables the user to make ink usage adjustments to optimize print output.

Availability and Pricing
Onyx Graphics workflow software version 6.5 is available for order now. The suggested list prices, which have not changed from version 6.0, are $4,995 for Onyx ProductionHouse; $2,995 for Onyx PosterShop and $1,195 for Onyx RIPCenter. Version 6.5 distribution is on DVD-ROM.
Users of version 5.5 and version 5.6 can upgrade to version 6.5 by purchasing a Product Upgrade, which ranges from $395 to $995 depending on the software package.
