Arcadia, The

Arcadia, The A lengthy prose romance by Sir Philip Sidney, based on Greek romances. It exists in two forms: the ‘old’ Arcadia, and an incompleted revision, the ‘New’ Arcadia. Shakespeare drew on it for the Gloucester sub-plot of King Lear.
